Welcome to Caring Transitions of Reading, PA. My name is Kevin Rarick, and I’m proud to serve the communities of Leesport, Berkley, Muhlenberg, Laureldale, Reading, West Reading, Wyomissing, Sinking Spring, Kenhorst, Gouglersville, Flying Hills, and surrounding areas. My path to owning this Caring Transitions location has been shaped by a lifelong dedication to service, problem-solving, and helping others during life’s most complex transitions. I began my career as a researcher studying cardiovascular physiology and brain health, with a focus on aging, injury, and chronic disease. After earning degrees from Penn State University and East Stroudsburg University, I served five years of Active-Duty in the U.S. Army, where I was stationed at the U.S. Army Institute of Environmental Medicine. There, I contributed to research on Soldier nutrition and physical performance. I later earned a graduate degree from the University of Iowa and spent several years in academic research. While this work was meaningful, I often felt the impact was too distant. I wanted to make a more immediate difference in people’s lives. That desire led me to Caring Transitions. Having recently relocated from Wisconsin back to my home state of Pennsylvania to be closer to my aging parents and family, I saw firsthand how overwhelming it can be to move and clean out a home, especially without support. This experience helped me realize how essential these services are. I wanted to provide families with the kind of assistance I knew my own family could one day need, hands-on, compassionate, and practical.
